Looking to change the OEM speedometer on my 05 FLSTCI since I can't seem to get the moisture out of it.... It's model # 67033-04A... I've heard the 08-up speedometer with the tach will plug right up??? Has aonyone upgraded to one of the newer odometers from the older OEM and if so, will the tach work or will I need to add something else? I believe the new model # is 74744-08.
I switched from one i put on in 08 in 2011 when the speedo/tach broke after i boosted it. Bike was dead in florida so i boosted from truck it made every light come on and couldnt be reset. I put another speedo tach combo in with no issues. My dealer did mine for nothing took him 15 mins i think.
Moisture in the Speed-o is a problem we all have.. Some a little, some more..
I kept our bike in a heated garage and I have Very little issue with it.
Those who don't have a heated place to store or keep there bikes outside usually have more issues with it..
Still what till summer and just park her so the sun shines on the dial for a while in the afternoon heat and all or most all of Ur moisture should go away...
If Ur in a high moisture area for storage,, Even a new speed-o is not going to make the moisture issue go away by buying a new one...
As mentioned, moisture in speedometer is common.
A new speedometer may not resolve.
It would suck for you to go through all the trouble and repeat the same.
If you are looking for an excuse to change it that would be a different story.
Try placing a few of those charcoal barrels found in vitamin bottles taped under a piece of plastic sheet over speedometer or place speedometer in plastic zip lock with same little charcoal barrels.

I was looking at upgrading to one of the new analog speedos myself:
(74776-11 - Combination Analog Speedometer/Tachometer).
I'm not sure how it may differ from the one you mentioned, and I don't know if this is even true or not, but I've heard that with those new speedos, if you install it on a non-ABS bike, the ABS warning light in them will stay on until you take it to a dealer to clear a setting in the ECM...
Maybe somebody with actual experience with these units will chime in here...
Thanks for the replies....I got most of the moisture problem resolved by taking the odometer apart (twice) and replacing the glass....I am really looking for an excuse to upgrade to the odometer with the tach and need to know if it will fit and if it will be a plug and play.... or what's involved in making the tach work since the OEM odometer doesn't have a tach.

Just look up the one U want and the Book will tell U what Yrs it will fit.
Or a call or visit to Ur local dealer parts dept. they should be able to answer any questions U have.
