Adding Stretched Hard Bags to 2005 Fat Boy
I'm now considering adding stretched bags to my 2005 Fat Boy. I've got the standard Harley-issue Softail Hard bags on the bike now, and they're fine (a little small)... but not exactly the look I'm going for. The bike has V&H Big Radius pipes. Anyone out there have any suggestions for what products I should be looking at? Does HD make large or stretched hard bags for Softails? I'd like also like to keep the detachable backrest I have now, so I'm not sure if that's an issue with the mount for the larger bags... Also, is there a quick-detach mounting system that makes it easy to take the brackets off/on easily with the larger bags?

I am interested, too, toddlaroche. I have an 05 Deluxe to which I am adding hard bags (not stretched, though) that came off an old slabside. It will be a wintertime project, so there are no usable pictures yet. I am using the brackets that fit the bags. There are adapter plates being fabbed out of of 3/16" CR steel. Still need to brace them (side-to-side) up under the rear fender.
