Default Hand controls and interchangeability

I was wondering if anyone might have any info on the differences in hand controls between 82 and 95 and 96 and later. I have a 93 FXR Superglide that I have made my own set of bars for and I need to change out my brake and clutch levers to an adjustable set. Everything I have found is listed for 96 and later such as the adjustable RSD levers, and there seems to be nothing for the older models. Anyone know anything about what may or may not interchange? If I can't find something in the aftermarket I'm going to build my own...just hoping I don't have to. Thanks for reading and any help that anyone has.
