Default Noise @ startup

2001 Twin Cam 88 when cold will emit loud "rapping" noise at startup and oil light will come on. within a minute the rapping disappears and the light goes out. Have 53,000 mi. on bike and it just started happening. I changed oil & filter yesterday but still happening.

Have the cam tensioners been changed yet? if they come apart can do a lot of damage in a short period of time. You can check them yourself if you want, just take cam chest apart and make sure to check inside one as it's usually the one that comes apart first. You can check it with a dental mirror and flashlight. Use search for Cam tensioner inspection. Also check your oil pump for any signs of scoring.
