Default Forward Controls

I have a 2000 Dyna with mid controls. would like forward controls and would also get the extension kit. Im over 6ft tall. what im wondering is if i can buy just the extension kit and re use all the stock parts for everything else. The exenstension kit has brackets that mount to the frame and longer linkage for the brake and shifter. Seems i could buy that and just bolt the stock peg and brake to the new linkage and do the same with the shifter and save buying anything else. Am i overlooking something?
Amazon Amazon
this is the cheapet extension kit i found and id try to use that one if i could with the rest being stock parts
