We have a pair of Harley Davidson Gas Tanks. Was told they fit a Softail. Is that correct? Are there other models that they would fit? What years? Looking at selling them and would like to be sure they go to the right bike. Thanks for any help.
they will fit any twin from a knucklehead to a shovelhead. they look like 3.5 gal tanks, correct for probably 60's panhead, earlier ones had a shutoff valve on top, shifter mounts, emblem mounts.. they wont fit a softail. these are fatbob tanks(are 3.5 still considered that?) softails use flatside tanks.
Thanks Jimmy. So any twin from knucklehead to shovelhead. 60s panhead also? These tanks are called fatbobs? Does anyone else agree on this? Also what are these tanks worth? Thanks.
there early 70's style tanks for a shovel head and they are after market tanks..If they were harley tanks the nipples on the bottom would be straight and yours are bent 90 deg
