Default Help lifing a 2007 Street Bob

I purchased a 2007 Street Bob and Sears Craftsman motor cycle jack (teh yellow one for $149). I was playing around this evening with trying to lift the bike with the jack. I'm not sure I know what I'm doing. It looks like a two man job, but itcan't be. Plus I'm not sure where to center the jack. Can anyone give me some tips before I drop my bike?

By the way I'm a Harley rider for the first time. I have about 15 days experience on my new bike. Its been about 12 years since I last rode. Those Hogs are something special, what a sound; I feel like a kid again.

You need to use the FRAME Extension Pieces.....

Nylon Clip-On components that fill in the three areas to even out the frame to a jack.....

I bought them but that only decreases my frame clearance, unless I am looking at this wrong....[sm=ummmmokay.gif]

You clip them on the frame at the THREE open spaces, then slide your jack under the bike to lift it up evenly....

The 4th piece (Rubber) slips under the Trans Shield...

Why not slide the jack under, and pull the bike upright with your left hand by the bars and start jacking it up?

Slide the jack under the bike from the right side, take your right hand, reach up to the front brake, squeeze it, this will keep the bike from rolling, start jacking with your left hand, as the jack enguages the left side frame of the bike it will start to stand up, once the bike is straight up let the brake go and jack the bike up to desired height. If the rear or front wheel comes up and the other one doesn't, re-position the jack. same goes for letting it down, squeeze the front brake, lower the jack, lean the bike on the kick stand.

I stopped at the Harley Davidson Dealership in Metairie, LA today and was asking about the frame extensions for a 2007 Street Bob; after the Parts guy looked thru the Harley Davidson cat. and two after market parts cat. he could find a thing. The service department was closed today (Sunday) so we couldn't get additional help.

I can now see why these frame extensions are needed at three points on the frame of this 2007 model. The questionnow is,where can I buy these frame extensions? Anyone know?
