Question Security system question...

My bike is an 011 WG, but just picked up an 06 Fatboy for the wife. Nice shape, but the older security system isn't like mine. Mine is a passive system that arms every time you shut the bike off and my fob is a proximity setup. The fob on her's has a button in the middle. I've done some research, and found that you press the button once to arm, and twice to disarm. My question: The bike seems to set the alarm every time you shut it off necessitating the fob be pressed twice to disarm. Should it be setting the alarm all by itself or is this something the dealer can eliminate in the program? I was under the impression that you had to arm the system if you wanted it on. Anybody?

You should have an owners manual, which will give you instructions. If you don't have one go to the 'Owners' tab on the Harley website and you can download one from there.
