Default ipod input on back of harmon

I'm wanting to clean up the appearance of how I use my ipod on my streetglide
Right now I just use a wire into the harmon kardon input jack so it works, it won't charge the ipod but it works. here are the 2 options I'm thinking about and I'm hoping I can get some input.
This first one I'm hoping would somehow work? I could hook up the power no problem but is there a way to tap into the input from the back of the radio with rca's?

The second one would also work but I think I would end up having to bring both ends back out of the dash, one back into the mini plug input, and one into the cigerette lighter?

I see there is a way to open up the radio and make your own input on the back but I don't want to go that route.
Is there an easy way I don't know about?

Check out Iron Cross Audio. They are a forum sponsor and sell iPod controllers and install hard lines to the radio. I just sent my head unit to them for repairs and A+ experience.

IronCross Audio will add not only an aux input on the rear but it will have the connection to charge your iPod/iPhone as well. They've done work for me a few different times and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

They're good people and know their stuff
