Hiya there where to start with my intermittent problem
bike.....2009 Fatboy staged to 1690
problem.....will fire on first touch of starter button 9 times out of 10 when cold
.....will fire occasionally but seems laboured with a grounching noise when hot
.....when refuelling and engine hot struggles to start with grounching noise and also forces fuel out of vent pipe onto floor
.....if allowed to cool starts again 9 times out of 10
Replaced battery and checked charging system ok spark plugs leads and coil all seem ok , without going through swap a part routine was wondering if anyone had heard of similar problems and cold give me a tip or two
I have a 08 fatty with extensive motor work done. I had the same problem and the fix we did was when motor gets hot it will shut down a cylinder and dump fuel in to cool and refire it only does this at stops example. Stop lights etc once this was programmed in i have not had anymore problems firing up hot or cold.
