Banjo Bolt Covers
Has anyone ever had one of their banjo bolt covers fall off the handlebar master cylinder.I've purchased the clutch ferrule and banjo bolt cover kit, they look great on but I'm a little worried about the banjo bolt as it is held only by one set screw and some blue loctite. If it ever falls off it would put a nice dent in the tank. The clutch ferrule is held by two set screws and at least you can observe if it is getting loose.
Remove the cover and clean the banjo bolt and the inside of the cover with alcohol then put some clear silicone gasket sealer in the cover and install the cover with blue Locktite on the set screw. Wipe off the excess silicone. The front axel covers on my Wide Glide were set up the same way, when I needed to remove the covers I backed out the set screw and had to work pretty hard to get the covers to come off. When I put the covers back on I cleaned out all of the old silicone gasket sealer and reinstalled them the same way. Putting the silicone in the axel covers was done by the dealer so I thought hey, there must be a reason, keep out the moisture, help it stay attached, sell more sealer or whatever. Give it a try, if you feel that it is not a good deal you can always remove it.

That sounds like an idea, thanks for the info Zyklon.I was thinking I might just use it on the rear brake master cylinder banjo bolt and buy two more for the front and rear caliper banjo bolts to match things up.At least if they do fall off it will most likely land on the road.I have axle covers on my lowrider too and I just check the set screws once a month and have had no problems with them.
