ok so I made my own option!

SE Ventilator cause I like the way it looks and I already have it installed. With the K&N filter, flows 287CFM which is fine for the heads I have which flow 252CFM
(2) Dorman 785-410 1/8" MNPT - 1/4" hose fitting (advanced auto)
(10') 1/4" vacuum line (advanced auto) yep plenty left over.
(1) 1/4" vacuum hose "T" (advanced auto)
(1) 1/4" to 3/8" vacuum hose adapter (advanced auto)
(1) Spectre 3991 Breather Filter (advanced auto) http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/s...m=spectre+3991

total - $15.49

took the backplate and drilled 25/64" holes in it

The I used a tap, M10x1.25 to thread the holes

The I cleaned the breather holes and oil drain holes thoroughly with brake cleaner

Then I siliconed the oil drain holes that go back into air intake (yep that was the only color hi-temp/oil resistant silicone I had on hand.

The I screwed in the fittings, attached hoses, attached clamps, inserted "T" in proper location, ran the hose inside the front pushrod tubes, drilled out the head bolts to 1/8" all the way through, and located the filter just behind my oil cooler below and fastened in place with a zip tie.

all said and done, $16 in parts and about 45 minutes of my time that will prolong the life of my motor.

Now if I could just figure out how to get all the crud off the top of those pistons without pulling the heads off, I'll be a happy camper...

PS. The "wetness" you see is from my cam and head change earlier in the week.

UltraNutZ, I just pulled my heads this week and was sick to my stomach. With under 9k on the clock I easily had twice the amount you had. I am STILL scraping layers. I attribute this to the fact that I run a SE Heavy Breather. Looking at it's design, the blowby ports are inside of a closed tube that has constant vaccum in it. I believe it to be a horrible design and actually PULLS oil from the breathers. I need to rig an external vent before this goes back together.
P.S. I wonder if a Vtune run would show a difference after your mod...

I was told by the more experienced builders to lose the filter. Either vent it straight to the ground or use a catch can.

I will tell you although I wouldn't expect to see much if any difference there in the VE tables.

However much oil gets past the umbrella valves in the rockers is all the oil there will be, vacuum will not increase that. However, with the system you have the vacuum will pull more of the oil thru the throttle body and into the combustion chambers...other set-ups pull less, and the oil drips down onto the inside of the air filter element.

You can clean your pistons of that carbon build up without pulling the heads by feeding some water into the intake while running the engine...another old trick is automatic transmission fluid.

I've seen some really cool catch-can set-ups. Straight hose will have your HD leaving its mark. Filter does not compromise anything performance wise...just gotta remember to hit it with some soap and spray it off whenever you are cleaning the bike.

On the VE tables, it depends on how much hot oily your umbrella valves are passing. You may see a small change. As time goes by and carbon builds up, there will be more of a difference.

Also, important is that even with the same volume of air in the combustion chamber, if some of it is exhaust from internal breathers, this is oxygen depleted air and will not produce as much power as air coming from outside that has a higher oxygen content.

Again, very nice external breather system you built!

thanks for the water and ATF tip as well. Do you normally put a bit in at fuel fill ups?

No, it would go right in the throttle body. It's an old trick that you don't hear much of anymore. Guy's would pull the aircleaner off of their car, grab the throttle linkage to bring the rpms up and pour the water or atf in.
