Default SE Ventilator

Didn't see a good place for intake questions so I'll post it here. I'm kinda digging on the looks of the SE Ventilator air cleaner. I think the chrome version would look good on my bike. While running better is always a bonus, this is first and foremost for the looks factor. I'm aware I might have to have some ECM work done (already got high flow slip-ons) , so if it runs good on top of looking like I want it it's all good. Anybody have any experience with this AC? Does that rain sock really work? I don't make a practice of riding in the rain but like everybody I sometimes get caught. I'd hate to know it was a water sucker. Is it very noisy compared to the SE Heavy Breather?...that one is kind of loud to me. Just wonder what you good folks can tell me before I make the move. Thanks.

I put one on my '12 Limited, and it's worked fine. Rain sock works, but I've never really needed it in light showers. It sounded a bit louder than stock at first, but that wears off quick, and I've not given it another thought - all my noise comes from the V&H Propipe.

I changed out my heavy breather to a ventilator when I put the lower fairings on, the ventilator is quieter. I ride in the rain a lot and have never had a single issue with the rain sock, both with the stock dry filter and running the oiled K&N filter upgrade.
A good tuner is recommended when changing the air set up. Using a power commander V or power vision (or any good tuner) will really wake up the bike compared to the stock EPA tune Harley runs on the bike stock.
