Hi. My tank had a sealant put in it after ethanol and sitting caused problems. I took it to the shop for this. It's worked fine until today. I started it up fine and was letting it warm up with the choke out and it died. Couldn't get it to start again but it was cranking good. I'm not mechanical at all, and I touched the spark plug wires and got a small shock. I haven't changed those since I got it in 2001 so they may need changing. It could also be problems from the tank, at least that's what I'm thinking.

I just want to hear your opinions. Thanks.
I'd drain and inspect the tank. See if the liner is flacking or disintegrating. If it is, you're probably going to have to clean the carb to remove any foreign material that got thru.
Hi Kathy - don't touch the plug wires! It seems unlikely they are anything to do with your problem, although they are obviously old, so it is worth considering changing them, however they shouldn't stop your bike from starting.
I agree with nhrider, about draining your tank and inspecting it, as the tap filter may be blocked with flakes of tank coating. However before you do that, try starting your bike after turning the gas tap to reserve. That way the gas drawn into the carb is taken from about an inch higher inside the tank. If your bike does start OK and run, turn the tap to the normal position and if the engine stops after a while, from fuel starvation, we have nailed the problem!
