I have a 2001 road king classic and its leaking a little gas right where the gas line connects to the quick disconnect. After checking it out I see that the rubber o-ring inside the gas line is cracked in half ... Is this o-ring replaceable or do I have to replace the whole gas line? If its replaceable can someone please tell me the part number? My local harley dealership won't help and they keep trying to sell me a new line but I'm sure that this o-ring should be replaceable! Thanks for the help!
Thanks ... But this o-ring is way to small to be on drain plug ... I think that o-ring is the one on the quick connect ... The one I'm looking for is in the end of the actual gas line.
I just went through this on my 01. HD does not list a part number for the o-ring so there's no help there. The only replacement is the entire quick disconnect with hose assembly at a considerable cost.
I fished the o-ring out of the quick disconnect fitting on the tank, went to the hardware store and found one the right size. A dental pick helped a lot to get it out and a small flat punch worked well to get it back in.
I also replaced the o-ring on the fitting on the line, but my leak was the ring inside the quick disconnect on the tank and yours probably is too.
