Just removed my tank for the first time and it was a bit of a task. I want to replace the crossover with a disconnect. Looking at the Goodridge with quick disconnect. It says its a 1/4 inch hose. My stock hose is 5/16. Will the 1/4 inch work??
I don't think so. 1/4" is quite a bit smaller than 5/16" and I don't know if you would be able to get that on. Plus, I would think you would be over stretching the hose and that could lead to a gas leak if the hose cracks or tears. Why not find one that is 5/16"?
Harley offers a crossover replacement hose, braided stainless with compression fitting for about $35 if I recall correctly. You can reorder the rubber pieces if needed. I installed one after removing the tank. Easy off and on now. Found this on fleabay, this is the correct size and looks like the Harley piece. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Stainless-Br...-/281180603726

Thanks Everyone. I thought the 1/4 would be too small...just wasn't seeing any of the goodridge in 5/16. Just got done ordering a chunk of braided hose and compression fittings from Spectre and a quick disconnect to add to the middle... a little cheaper than the goodridge with a little elbow grease thrown in.
