Default Gloves for rain

Am planning a ride to the Kerrville area this weekend and it looks like may have some rain, how much depends on which weather site you look at. A bit frustrating that they can vary widely on their forecast but I plan on being as prepared as possible. Have good rain gear except for gloves......any suggestions as to what works for you? Have three styles lf leather gloves for different temps but don't have anything that I would say is waterproof. Not looking at top shelf stuff as rain is not something I deal with on a consistent basis in Lubbock!

not to be a smart ***, but when you find them, let us know!! I have yet to find any glove that is waterproof. I have some that will keep your hands dry for a bit, but they all seem to leak. But then, maybe there's a difference with a fairing vs not fairing bike?!
Check your local HD dealership, and also the other sports bike or off brand dealers. They have equipment that is pretty decent!

For those of you who haven't found them yet, Revzilla.com absolutely rocks. Their service is as good as it gets.

Why doesn't anyone sell rain covers for gloves? You can buy rain covers for everything else including your boots so what gives?

Well, you could always put any kind of rubber glove, latex/exam glove, or painters glove over your riding gloves. Or, in an emergency, stick your hand in any kind of plastic bag.

I'm guessing you'd give up some feel and control, though.

I just wear my leather gloves and let'um get wet. You could always carry a spare set if they don't dry out fast enough. If it's a long run, I'll dry them some way.

Provided it isn't cold. Just use a set of Mechanix gloves or the similar Harley textile gloves. They get wet but dry out about 10 times faster than leather. The one set of supposedly water proof gloves I owned sucked and I just ended up throwing them away.

I have a buddy that a big Gold Wing guy for many years. He rode Alaska and the lower 48 several times. He wore those yellow kitchen gloves in the rain. I was just too proud to wear such a thing. With his bright yellow rain suit you really couldn't tell. I'm not recommending it..just tellin a yarn mostly.. I have an old pair of well worn, unlined, leather, gauntlets that I wear. They get soaking wet but, they work good for the rain.

I recently picked up a cheapo-set of Bilt waterproof gloves from cycle gear...so far so good, but then again I haven't been with them in a torrential down pour. The one drawback is that they look like ski gloves....meh.

I tried the rubber glove thing once. I bought the black "chemical" gloves instead of the spiffy yellow ones. But what I found was my hands got as wet from sweat as they did from the rain. For just a quick shower that are not bad. Several hours in the rain not so much.
