Way to expensive! I couldn't see it being more than $1500 tops! And that's way over estimating. Checkout the PDF on the right for more information on what they do.. It looks like they do roughly 250-350 miles a day. I'm more of the 500mi a day type of guy.
I think 250-350 miles a day seems about right if you want to experience Route 66 and not just ride it. Lots of places to stop and see once you get out west.
It would be fun. I have done parts of it in my Vette some years ago.
But, if they did, I plan on running out for the '7 day' run to Ok when I leave the 105th bash in Milwaukee this August. The ride back home after might be a bit much tho......as I hate runnin the interstates for much more than a short short from time to time.
man if you are intrested in doing route 66 me and my girl as well as a few buddies are going to take it leaving from chicago and head into Marshall, missouri (small little town in missouri) I have friends that live all along the way... we are going to try and do it as CHEAP as possible crashing on our buddies couches and crap for stops... we just want to take our time and enjoy the ride, i rode it home from STL last year in the fall it was cold as hell but still a great ride! i met up with a few old biker dudes and they showed me some cool diners are what not... just awesome! i just hate doing rides like that in big rallys cause it is just too packed... i like to cruise! if you are intrested let me know.. no dates are set or anything... we will prob try and do a 3 day weekend or something... let me know.
