Thanks
It was around $5600.00 all in. That also includes having Steve put his Compensavor on it and a new SE compensator, New S&S Lifters and push rods and cam bearings

CVOJOE,
Thanks for helping me with this, I just talked to my dealer and they said they could do the 110 bolt on for $3235. I'm not up on cams or anything but he said it comes with 259. I told him i thought that was a high RPM cam for racing and he then said if I want a TQ build they could put 585 cam. He said also the heads would be Ported and 50 MM Throttle body.
I told him guys are getting in the 130's TQ and 120's HP. He said that was unrealistic and that it would be in 116 TQ range and 100 HP range. That is not much more than I have now.
Ideas?

The 585 cams are a better profile for your needs than the 255's, but their still an EPA cam and are not going to give you the gains some of the aftermarket cams will. The 50 MM TB is standard on your bike and is the one you want. HD is also not allowed to tune your bike to it's best performance anymore.

I would get with one of the experienced HD motor builders/designers and let them give you your options. Guy's like Fuelmoto, Hillside, GMR Performance and Dragos bike works will give you much better bang for your buck than the HD dealer can. There are others out there that do quality work, I am just not familiar with them.

One thing that is hard is the distance I have to travel to get work done, I'm in central Iowa. I had Jason Kellis from faribault Minn. do the dyno tune on my bike. been trying to get in contact with him to maybe have him do the build. He has not got back to me yet.
He has a real good rep in getting everything out of a bike.

I talked to Faribault Harley and they said they could do 1 of 2 builds, He said a T-Man 107 build with 625 cam would get me in 120's TQ & HP or they could do a 110 build for the same money and results.
What do you think.

You need to get a hold of "The King of Cubes" He is in Pleasant Hill, IA, on the SE side of Des Moines. His shop is called Hyperformance. He will hook you up. Give him a call. He will help you plan out your build, do all of the work, and tune it when it is done. Machining or custom made cylinders, porting, targeting compression to match cams, and cam advice. http://hyperformancemotorcycle.com/

Texas, New Mexico and Arizona is where we do most of our riding. Heat is a major issue here. With our Loaded trike approaching 1700 lbs, moving that much weight, heat was an even bigger issue in my decisions

I went back and forth between the Bored 107 kits, the S&S 106 new cylinder kits and the Drop-in 110 kits

The bored 107 kits have a thin cylinder wall that that radiates more heat to the passengers and has less metal to dissipate the heat generated producing the power to move the motorcycle. With the added weight and the added heat generated to pull this weight I eliminated the bored 107 kit because of possible durability issues and passenger comfort concerns. I do not have any science to back this up, it's more of a common sense approach

I went with the drop-in 110 kit over the S&S 106 kit, because I did not want to spend $5K to add 3 Cubic inches.

Did I over-think this?...possibly. But it made sense to me and it was my dollars being spent.

With your being in Iowa, you may not have the heat issues and concerns.

I do have a heat concern on this build, what you said all makes sense and that is another reason for diamond cut cylinders. I have read about the cylinders being cut is supposed to help with heat and look good doing it. I agree on the 110 and getting more cubic inches for the money.
