A forum for the discussion of your sidecar, Conversion Trike or Pull Behind Motorcycle Trailer.
In October 1967 week later I went into the service so i remember that - i was in a Harley dealer on Staten Island lombardys — on Bay Street - he had a new 1966 and 67 on the showroom floor and it long held those 2 as it was small both were un sold new and both had reverse - but anyone can believe what they want it again is a free country after that last election
Just some information. Harley never offered a reverse as a factory option on any sidecar. Never.
They did on A few of the 3 wheeled versions .
Well, this here is factory shift gate and it is tied to a 65 Pan and sidecar.
...and up until the mid to late 70s, the transmission case for Big twin models was machined to allow for the reverse gear.
Starting 65, if you wanted a 3 + R the factory offered a different tranny lid as well as a shift drum and shifter gear (no mousetrap or ratchet lid but a hand shift foot clutch assembly)
"The subject has been well researched in the sidecar world and over and over shown that HD did not do a factory reverse on any sidecar."
I don't know but I'm thinking maybe you need to expand your world a bit.
