The front end-discussion has gotten sort of like the standard oil arguments and the kit preferences. There are numerous ways to skin-the-cat. I used TG trees at a self-installed cost of less than $400 on an FLHTCUI and they will more-or-less bolt right on your front end and you have the convenience of having off-the-shelf HD parts on there. These other folks will chime in here too on their selection and preference. You can get a bit more rake out of other systems, but the cost is higher, but then again the handling may be a bit sweeter with the other kits. I'd say go ride a TG and also ride one with a system like the EZ-Steer and see what you like. I went from nothing at all to the TG system. I had ridden an Ultra with the EZ-Steer too, but it was on a Hannigan kit which had a longer wheelbase than mine. I would say that Harley took a stab at what they considered safe for the Ultra frame and designed the rake in the TG trees based on that.
