Rode a '93 FLH w/a hack for years. No reverse. Didn't pose a problem, other than making sure your nose was pointed down hill. Bike & hack were easy enough to push around when needed.

Reason: spelling
My neighbor has riden a hack for probably a total of 15 years without reverse. If you pay attention on where and how you park IMHO you don't need reverse in a trike or hack.

My rig is probably one of the biggest combos around (check my album), and have no issues without a reverse. Just make sure it's it neutral and push it as I need. I do as noted as someone mentioned before and try to park uphill if there is one. I get a kick out of letting it coast back into my parking space at work and see the looks from co-workers :-)
Don't keep us in suspense. With the responses you received what is your opinion. Reverse or no reverse.
I'm really not in the market but since you ask, only with a dedicated reverse would I own a hack or trike. I'm not about looking for particular parking places etc and I'm not pushing a rig. F that. Something with 3 wheels should have a reverse. if I get one someday it will have that mechanical reverse in the trans mentioned by the others.
I use my reverse all the time. Parking downtown is impossible without reverse, unless you want to get off the trike on Main St. with traffic coming to push it into a parallel parking space. A lot of places we go, there isn't any pull through spaces and we live in a flat area, so very few opportunities to let it roll back into a space. I couldn't live without it and be happy.

That makes sense to me, too. I know lots of people that make a virtue out of necessity but to me it ain't the same thing atall.
