Default Trike kits

Yes you can buyu a kit and do it yourself if thats what you like, There are many out there to choose from. But by all means buy the raked trees,,,,reverse is something that you can do without if you just use your head when parking and don't put yourself in a bad spot. I run a mystery design myself and they will sell you the kit outright and I know there are others that will also. Much better seyup than what Harley is putting out. Go for the IRS you wont regret it. Litlle costly but much smother and stable ride.

Now, here's the rub. I have been all over the internet looking at trike kits. There are a few out there that I like better than the rest. I stopped in at a shop just north of Knoxville last Friday and looked at a couple. The lady there said that no one would sell me a kit, I would have to go through a dealer and have one installed. Does anyone know if I can buy a kit and do my own install/conversion? I ain't bad with a wrench. I can save around 3 grand by doing it myself, let alone know that it is done right and torqued properly.
send me an e mail at: pcombe@bresnan.net and i will help you get in touch with some people who are absolutely trustworthy whom i bought my kit from. I have nothing to do with their business, and am a consumer myself, so i have nothing to loose or gain from steering you in the right direction. They have helped me to make my trike a reality. And there was never even a worry about being ripped off and they have helped me with tech questions also.

I am getting closer to having my trike up, and hope to have it running for test rides by weeks end?
I wont have the body painted by then but hell, thats just cream on the pie compared to having it mechanically sound.
They will help you decide what kit would be right for you, and how much you want to spend?

They knew how to get me some great discounts also. I beleive they saved me about 1500.00 dollars on the retail price between the champion kit and the (HHI) hog halters raked tripple tree.
The point is that they have their finger on whats going on in the trike world.

I had the kit delivered to the local fed-ex terminal here in Casper, Wyoming, because it was easier and cheaper than haveing a 700 lb. crate delivered to my door. (most co. don't do drop ship but they may get you around that, as they would have done for me but i'm to cheap to pay the truck driver extra to unload it at my garage. They load it for free at the terminal dock.) And i had a trailor.

I have a thread on this forum called doing the conversion myself you can check out.

Also you can google pcombe/photobucket and see what all i have encountered.

It should let you see if you think you can handle the conversion yourself.
If you are mechanically inclined and literate you can probably do it my friend.
Its more about having nessesary tools available as any thing else. And absolutly have the shop manusl on hand. You will need it!
