Default tail light visibility

After talking with a few others that I have ridden with. In the day light hours. The visibility of my tail lights. When the sun shined on the lenses, were very hard to see. Since my trike isn't the Tri-Glide and is custom built by myself. I found that instead of just adding a possible after market fix. I added the eye brow shades that HD sells for the front turn signals to my tail lights. I have 1937 Ford tail lights and the application was pretty easy and looks just fine.

I had a rider follow me and he said it did improve their visibility. However, during day light hours We use hand signals. I dont have brake lights in the tail lights. I've that 3rd brake light LED bar from a chevy suburban. He said he could see that come on just fine.

In day light. I will always use hand signals. I make sure my hands have the fingers against each other. It's something how a motorist can say they never saw a hand signal. And yet. If you give them the finger. They see it just fine.

It's called selective eye sight.
