Hacked, Conversions and Trailering"Harley Sidecar, Conversion Trikes and Motorcycle Pull Behind Trailering Enthusiasts"
A forum for the discussion of your sidecar, Conversion Trike or Pull Behind Motorcycle Trailer.
Don't know if anyone already posted this or not (didn't see it on a search), but HD is no longer going to offer sidecars. Their reeasoning is that the two trike models are killing off sales of the hacks.
So it looks like the 2011 model year will be the first since 1914 that a sidecar is no longer available.
Sure wish they would have given us more warning. We ordered one 2 months ago and it kept getting back ordered. Guess I should have figured something was up.
Guess it will be a boost for the aftermarket "hackers".
yea, I was looking for one for my 09 EGC. No real luck. I was thinking of getting a Liberty, but ended up finding an old CJ750 hack to play around with to see if I like it. So far I am actually having fun with it.
Good riddance to the Harley hack. I never like em because of the black tubular framing underneath the hack. Takes away from the lines of the bike/hack.
I missed the HD announcement if there was one....the elimination of the sidecars seems consistent with their announcemnt to cut back on bike shipments. They have decided to reduce production of bikes and apparently eliminate some of the small lines like the Buell and the sidecar.......what's next?
