Doe anyone on here pull a uni-go trailer or own one? I am looking intot he possibilyt of maybe purchasing one. I want tsoemthing small and that will trailer good behind my ultra and that will be very light so it doesn't bog my bike down.
I am curious as to your thoughts on handling and if they are worth the money?
A friend of mine had one for his BMW K 1200 LT. I thought it was very cool and painted to match the bike. It is a very light trailer and I think it would be fine behind the Ultra.
I had one back in 2004 on my k1200lt.
Some things to consider was that it needs to be packed and the weight distributed evenly. Should be filled up to avoid bouncing around.
Some uni-go trailers have the handles to make moving it off the motorcycle easier. just an fyi. They did have some early pre-fab issues with their alignment of their tow hitches, but that was fixed .
anyhow....did about 4,000 miles that trip and had no issues at all with uni-go trailer on types of roads and pavements. Simply a great product and built pretty good.
I am not sure uni-go out of australia still makes the product or it got bought out, but for my camping needs it worked just fine.
Just went to their website, yea they did get bought out, and the price has jumped about 30% more..OUCH!
I have a Uni-go I picked up at the factory last fall. Fully loaded it has no impact on braking or cornering. It is very tricky to back-up, so I ensure that I park in an area where I can pull forward, or if such a parking spot is not available, I back up and then get off to straighten the trailer out so I can continue to back out of a parking spot. The light weight of the trailer (70 lbs) makes this no big deal, even fully loaded with camping gear. On my trip to Gaspe this summer, I did wheel it into my hotel room in Lake George just to see if it fits through a standard door opening. It does! Would I buy another -- absolutely!
