Now, I have looked at some kits. I like the way the Lehman and the Mototrike look, but, I can see that the IRS is a real plus What do the Insurance people say about triking your bike yourself? Will I have to pay more insurance because it is a "custom vehicle"?

With mine I have Geico and they insure the bike and the trike kit is on the same policy but they list its worth and the bike is insured on the same policy but they write it as 2 different prices I.E. what it would cost to replace the bike and the kit!!! Hope this helps I think it went up about $50 or $70.....You will have to shop around for the best price i my case it was Geico...
Thanks for all of the input, folks. I think that I'm going to start this process by trying out a TriGlide at my favorite dealer.

I was in the same boat as you. I found a used trike at a great price. Remember the Tri Glide is not IRS. I wanted a IRS kit, but ended up straight axle. It seems to ride ok, and doesn't lean in the turns. I guess they both have their good and bad side.
