Can't believe I haven't loaded a picture of my bike on this area yet. Only the nicest hack out there.
Jeff
Just a bit arrogant to think you have the nicest hack out there don't you think? LOL Not hating here, but I have seen a lot of hacks, and yours is nice, but I have seen many better, including mine. Course, I just might be a little biased. LOL
Its my baby of course I'm going to say its the nicest one out there, as you just did. Yours is very nice. My preference is HD cars. My brother would love yours, on his Wing.
The drawback to HD hacks is the lack of accessories available for them. The list of what is available for mine (California Sidecar) and others is extensive, where HD is none. More room in mine, electric lean control, ease of entry, truck space, etc, etc. Yeah, mine is a lot better. LOL
I got rid of a custom built hack to get a HD ultra rig since I am a brand ***** as my wife calls it. I wish I had kept the freedom sidecars rig. The HD car is too hard for my wife to get in and out of. I going to save my pennies and get a new road glide when they come back liquid cooled and a hannigan sidecar that has a door . Plus I like the idea of the electronic adjustment for road crown.
U hack guys tell me what it like to ride one...does it pull u one way or another...how is it to do turns left or right...I think they have a great look...talked to one guy and he had weights in his and said u need them to take the place of a person...
They are very different from riding 2 wheeled or symmetrical three wheeled. Whether or not it pulls depends on the set up. Mine is straight as an arrow on a flat road and one up with 120lb of ballast. I rode two up a lot and set the bike loaded for two. On a road that is cambered right or left it will want to go that way. If it pulls excessively other than accelerating or breaking something is wrong. You have to be willing to tune the adjustment and a small adjustment can make a big difference in handling or tire wear.
I like the look of a sidecar and that is why I have one, but I have a trike too because the hack is a lot of upper body work riding around town. If I have to travel and take passengers the wife will pick the sidecar over the back seat every day of the week.
Pick up a 2011 sidecar service manual from a dealer or ebay. It should tell you what mounting parts you need and other changes you will have to make. I have read that the older TLE sidecars and mounts will fit up to 2005 model year bikes, but a newer bike will probably require some newer mounting hardware at least.
