Love my XG750
I purchased a brand new Street 750 off the showroom floor with 5 miles on it. I love the bike! I have taken it on many rides, local and long distance, and it has performed quite well. All that being said, I did have to make some modifications (upgrades) to it. I am a veteran with a bad back so the first thing that had to go was the seat. The factory seat killed my back after only 30 miles. Luckily I had a close friend who worked on bikes and donated a brand new Sportster seat that I replaced the factory seat with (with very little modification to the underside so it would hook onto the existing plate). I replaced the screw both on the seat with a hand screw one with a skull on it. My wife bought me engine guards for it and my daughter bought me a windshield (aftermarket universal) for it which works very nice. The second thing I changed was the exhaust. The factory one made this bike sound like a crotch rocket (not that there is anything wrong with that but not my style) so I added one from Mozilla which made it sound more like a HD should sound like. I also added a custom made (by me) sissy bar so I could carry large bags and such on my long trips (I make at least one a year, sometimes 2 or 3). I also added other cosmetic items (the usual-cup holder, phone holder, etc). So I really like the bike now. It is perfect for me. Just to reiterate, I have used this bike on back roads, interstate, and dirt roads and it has performed extremely well. It does not like loose gravel much, but not many bikes do. My bike has been paid off for a few years and I do not have any plans to sell it or trade it or to buy another one any time soon.
