Been in 35 states and this was probably my favorite road. In 2009 I rode the Chief Joseph hwy out of Cody to the BTP, and then into Yellowstone via small portion of the BTH.
I returned in 2010 and rode from Red Lodge to the CJH back down into Cody. The ride and the scenery are awesome a must ride.
When I went to Sturgis this year, I first rode from NC to Cooke City, MT and then back to Sturgis via the Beartooth Hwy (an item on my bucket list).
All I can say is, if I had just ridden the Beartooth and gone straight back to NC, the trip would have been worth it. Definitely #1 on my list of roads.
BTW, the Chief Joseph's Hwy which I took on the way to Cooke City ranks #2 for me.
