Well finally got round to creating my youtube vids of our Route 66 trip last year.
Actually it was an extended trip as we started off in Tampa and stopped off overnight at Nashville on our way to Chicago. Then after visiting the HD Museum and having a VIP tour by Bill Davidson we set off for Santa Monica Pier taking in a few detours i.e. Grand Canyon, Sedona and Angeles Crest Highway.
Man what a ride, would do it again in a heartbeat, and the only rain we had on the whole trip was riding back to Chicago from the Museum, magic
Anyway, get the popcorn, crank up the volume and enjoy:
Awesome thanks for posting. I would love to do that ride,How long did it take from the start in chicago to the end?
We left Chicago on Fri 14th Sept and flew home on Wed 3rd Oct. We arrived at Santa Monica Pier on Mon 1st Oct.
We wasn't rushing and did stay a couple of nights in Santa Fe and 3 nights in Amarillo plus 2 nights in Williams to got to the Grand Canyon so if riding straight though could have done it a lot quicker.
Very cool! Did you ship your scoot over or borrow one? Thanks for posting brought back a lot of good memories from my time out west.
I keep my Road King in Florida and ride it only on vacations or road trips. After this trip I left it with friends at a Hot Rod shop in the Mohave Desert and this year flew back out in May for the ride back. That was an amazing trip, took the scenic route via Zion, Bryce, Monument Valley, Million dollar Hwy and much more.
Next job, building the vids for that trip.
