ignition issue ?

2001 Electra Glide Classic carb model.....tachometer quit working and it started backfiring and missing....no upgrades....Pulled plugs to check spark and plugs started lightly firing with only ignition on....was 5 feet away from the bike...any ideas or anyone had this issue?

I don't understand your firing description or the part about being 5 feet away from the bike. Another couple of things could be the crank position sensor or ignition module.

The spark plugs were firing without me turning over the engine....I stepped away to grab some new plugs and heard them clicking .....

Well I changed out the crank sensor and then tested its good got 4 on ac meter ......think it's volts....onto more wiring and a donor ICM if I can find one just to see if its the issue.

Found the running issue was a plugged up speed sensor....still no tachometer and it has an engine codes 25...don't know if it came on from me testing or there is still an issue
