Default Thundermax install questions

Took the plunge and order up a TM Auto tune for my 07 Ultra - Just some question before I get it that will hopefully make the install go real smooth
1. When I remove the stock ecm do the stock o2 sensor wires come out with it? If not do I remove them?
2. Anyone that has installed this on an Ultra - How or where did you route the new o2 sensor wires from the TM? Got any pictures?
3. Anything I should be aware of not covered in the instructions?

I would be interested in having some pictures posted also. I'm from pre-computer era, but this old dog is still learning new tricks! slowly, but still learning. Mine is an 04 ultra with rinehart true duals. planning on up grades at different times ( when $$$ allow). I figure TM would be better than multible tuning sessions @ local dealership. But I will say, the wrenches at Tilley Harley Davidson in Statesville, NC are very good at tuning!

Hey UD,
I just recieved my TM fropm Zipper's yesterday and although I havn't installed it yet, i can answer one of your question's, you just remove the stock O2 sensors from the head pip'es to the connector (front connector located at frame cross member located at down tubes, rear connector located right behind starter) The TM kit contains two cap off device's that you cap of these two connectors with, so you don't remove the harness all the way back to the stock ECM location, they stay. You do however run the new harness's back to the TM ECM, rear cylinder staight down to behind the starter and from there to the O2 sensor on the rear head pipe and the front O2 harness will travel up the lower right frame rail (with the rear brake line) and up the right down tube to the front head pipe. Mechanically the install is simple and straight forward. What has me worried however is the software install. Although Zipper's pre installed the map for me there is still programming which needs to be done. Anyone that can provide and info on step 7 thru 12 of the manual would be appracited, thx, Putt

1. When I remove the stock ecm do the stock o2 sensor wires come out with it? no If not do I remove them? no
2. Anyone that has installed this on an Ultra - How or where did you route the new o2 sensor wires from the TM? Got any pictures? They recommend along the right side, along the bottom of the frame for your bike. Its in the instructions. Run the wires any way you like, keep away from heat. You have two choices down and along the frame or up and under the tank. I have a Heritage and ran the front jug wires under the tank. The connection is tucked away above the horn bracket.
3. Anything I should be aware of not covered in the instructions? The first time you link or at some point I forget exactly when, You may get a window that opens and says you have aerrors or faults. Just clear them , close the window and move on.

Its not bad, cover your tins.

Dont forget on the last page TIPS AND GENERAL INFO:
2007 models
final drive ratio [87] and Gear 6 min TPS [40]

Its not easy to explain. Make sure you follow the procedure exactly like the directions. Do not miss a step. If it tellsyou 30 seconds make sure you wait at least 30-35 seconds for on/off initialization. If it says start twice do it. .Also make sure your battery is fully charged so you can go slow and not kill the battery. You will do fine.

Thanks for the info - I can't wait to bolt this thing in and start the process.

As I was reading another post

https://www.hdforums.com/m_1558901/tm.htm

I was concerned by what on guy said he was getting for top speed after installing the TM unit

"hey guys, dont get me wrong, im no speed demon. im here to cruise. im just testing out a new thundermax and pipes, and have noticed that i lost a little on the top end which was surprising to me. i figured id lose off the line and gain on the top. my experience has been the opposite so far. the bike is still dialing itself in so i am still reserving judgement, but so far i am blown away!!! right now on the top, throttle fully pegged its a slow climb to 90 from 80. i suppose there is another 5 or 10 mph in there. hope it gets a tad zippier up there for passing."

What do you guys think? Is it a slow climb from 80 to 90 mph with the TM unit in the beginning? If so will it get better? or could there be something amiss in his set up?

I installed the tmax with auto tune last week on my 06 wide glide and rest assured I didnt lose any top end speed or power. He might be having a issue with his set up?

One more question - Do I install the TMAT unit and the 02 sensors before any programing is performed or just the TMAT?
