Ignition/Tuner/ECM/Fuel InjectionNeed advice on ignition issues? Questions about a tuner? Have questions about a EFI calibration or Fuel Injection? Tips on Engine Diagnostics, how to get codes, and what they mean. Find your answers here.
I'm about to pull the trigger on this system, but I have a question: After the Auto-tune 'learns' for awhile, can't you commit the changes to the ECM & start auto-tuning againfor an even better tune, & then do this over & over again until optimum tuneis reached & auto-tune has almost no corrections to make. Or is 20%from the base mapall the system is capable of?
I have the tmat installed but by far not a expert. It tunes a certain percent which is a preset percentage, (but you can change that). Everytime you start, ride and turn off ignition it will tune up to that percentage each start and stop until you ride it enough (few hundred miles) until it is tuned perfect or as close to perfect as you can get. Didn't explain it well but hope you get the idea. There are others on here that can explain it fair better than I can, but hope this helps.
I don't think I worded my question clearly. Ok, say I run AT until all the correction tables are nearly full. Can I 'commit' those changes to the ECM, clear the tables, & start fresh w/an even closer map?
Just order it Vic !!![sm=groupwave.gif] Hopefully I will finally finish up tomorrow. Finally got some stainless bungs & rod to have them welded. ( didnt want steel ones, Rust). I ran the bike 75 miles with the Fuel Pak still on to seat the rings. Felt strong. Sounds like a lifter is ticking though. Did you call the guy in AR. ? Best price I found . Later , Bill
Yeah Bill, I'm in! After trying for literally months to schedulea session,I finally took my bike into an EFItuner last Tueday for a final tweek on the PCIII usb. The guy says it should be done 'in a couple days' (infamous phrase, right?) & he'd call me then. Well, I STILL haven't gotten the call & I'm seriously done w/this sorta crap. As soon as I get it back I'll be ordering the TMAT & will never have to worry about scheduling with & waiting on a dyno-tuner ever again. Plus my bike won't be getting beat to death at WOT for run after run after runeither. For now I'm just waiting on the call & hoping they don't blow my engine...
Hope ya get it back soon. I am just putting the pipes back on, but have to stop for a while. Laying on the floor gets me after a while, sides it's Talladega time. Let me know when you get it. I almost have my bung on the rear too close, so you have to be careful there. I have V&H duals, so that may be a difference.
My Fatcat exhaust already has the bungs so hopefully installation will be a breeze. Did youtake your gas tankoff to run the front cyl 02 wiring, or run it along the bottom of the frame?
I ran it under the bike along the right side. I really dont think there would be enough room under the tank. The connection between the 2 is pretty big. It might fit, but I wanted it for easy access in case there is a prob. down the road, I wont have to pull tank.
