Installed target tune this week, went well you need a large socket to get the new o2 sensors installed they are larger than the stock ones. Has anyone used the auto tune for target tune yet? Fuel Moto said to wait until I reach at least 500 miles, I have no problem with that I'm really looking forward to trying it out.
I installed mine about two weeks ago.I will say ...where running 80 I uses to tack 3100,now I tack about 2850...
This just can't happen.
The engine is connected via gears/ratios from the crankshaft through the primary then though the tranny and ending at the rear wheel. All done with gears, chains, and a belt.
There is no way to change the relationship of engine rpm to speed...other than mechanically changing gears in the drivetrain (primary gears, tranny gears, or final drive pulleys)
More power doesn't/can't change these gear ratios. So 80mph @ 3100rpm will be 80mph @ 3100 no matter how much power is added.
Now if you were in 5th gear looking at the tach @ 80 and it read 3100rpm.
When you noticed the 2850rpm you were prolly in 6th gear.
That's the only way to get 2 different rpms @ 80mph.

...Fuel Moto said to wait until I reach at least 500 miles...
Did they give you a reason for waiting to get your bike tuned in with TT?
I would assume the sooner fuel and timing is corrected for your bike, the better?
I like to break in engines on the Dyno so I can get fueling and timing safe immediately rather than waiting until after 500 miles of riding an untuned bike.
I control rpms, loads, and temperatures which is an advantage when breaking in a new engine IME.
Just my $.02

It can, if the speedo calibration numbers are different between the current map and the previous one. It's 250 rpm, about 5mph, which is not unusual for the factory speedo to be off this far.
The way that I understood was that they wanted to give the TT a chance to make some adjustments because it does this in real time. I'm not sure if that makes sense. But I will say that I put on about 250 miles and it feels a lot smoother, the throttle is more responsive and the deceleration popping is almost all gone. I'm very happy so far. I want to try to use the auto tune just to see if it could be better.
