Default Thundermax, anyone do a monitored run?

Question for you all TMAX owners. Has anyone actually performed a monitored run?

Default RE: Thundermax, anyone do a monitored run?

The main reason I bought a Thunder-Max, was the Auto-Tune feature. Didn't want to mess around with constantly adjusting or fine tuning a map. I have not done a monitored run, but I suspect that my bike's running much richer, as I'm only getting 35 mpg. You can change the AFR on the closed loop module settings page to a constant, but I don't know how that would alter the auto-tune feature. I am curious if the folks at Zippers are concerned with the possible legal ramifications of selling an ECU that overrides the factory EPA lean conditions. The T-Max literature touted a 13.0 AFR through all areas of riding, so your 14.5 to 15.6 readings have me concerned. I will try a monitored run next week and post the results. I too have talked to the folks at Zippers, and as nice and helpful as they are, I get the feeling that I'm not getting any meaningful answers. They also told me to always update my current map with new maps that are posted. They also instructed me to clear all the "learned fuel adjustments" and "learned idle control adjustments" with any new updated map. I guess they are getting feedback from all the folks that have a TM installed, and are making adjustments. Since installing the T-Max, I can't change the security code (Randy said they are working on it). Also, when the bike gets hot, my speedometer will read 10 mph at a dead stop. The tachometer portionreads just fine though. Overall, I'm quite happy with the performance of the Thunder-Max. I did a 70 mile run yesterday at speeds around 65-70 mph. Returning home, I found myself stuck in traffic that was just creeping along at a snails pace. The oil temp only got up to 240 degrees, but when I looked downI noticed my engine light was lit. I immediately pulled over and let it cool for 10 minutes. When I got home, I hooked up the bike to the laptop, and pulled up the warranty information page. I downloaded the head temperature logs and notice it read 336 degrees for 1 minute. My bike has an oil cooler, Amsoil synthetic oil, K&N 3909, Rush slip-ons, and of course the T-Max. Can't do much more than that. Geez, these air-cooled bikes are like sharks, gotta keep 'em moving or they die. There is nothinglike the look, sound, and ride of a Harley Davidson, but all this worrying about the heat factor, isreally taking the fun out of riding, especially when I find myselfstuckin traffic. I'm seriously considering takingthe financial hit, and just selling the bike, and buying a metric with muscle, and of course, aradiator. So what if no one waves, at least I'll be cooler. Thanks, and keep us posted.
