Ignition coil help, on 1976 Aermacchi SS-175
New here. I'm rebuilding an old '76 Aermacchi Harley Davidson SS-175 and I'm stuck on what to do about the bad ignition coil. I cannot find another original coil for a decent price or in good condition. Can another coil from a different make or model be substituted to get it in riding condition? Maybe a newer model of coil as to be cheaper? Thank you.

Yes, any other suitable coil can be used. I'm not sure that many of us have experience of your model of bike, so if you don't get any useful answers in here, I suggest you find a supplier of classic bike parts from that era. Life was much simpler in those days and I suspect it should be simple to supply you with a suitable new replacement.
