Ignition/Tuner/ECM/Fuel InjectionNeed advice on ignition issues? Questions about a tuner? Have questions about a EFI calibration or Fuel Injection? Tips on Engine Diagnostics, how to get codes, and what they mean. Find your answers here.
A quick and easy way to determine if it is a fuel delivery issue is to remove the a/c, start the bike, bring up the revs till it starts crapping and hold it there.
Then start covering the carb intake. As you cover more and more of the opening the revs should react...up or down.
If the engine seems much happier with you covering part of the intake! you have a fueling issue.
If the engine runs worse or dies you prolly have an electrical issue not fuel.

I'm starting to run out of ideas guys. Making sure I had good contact on all grounds did absolutely nothing for me. I'm starting to lean towards either the pickup sensor in the nose cone or the ignition module itself. Does anyone know of a good way to test either of these units?
I'm sure some of you gentlemen have been itching to hear what I ever determined my problem to be. Turned out to be a bad ignition box or wore going into it I should say. I replaced it and the bike runs like a top now! Still not.much riding weather in MN this time of year but I've squeezed a few miles out on the better days and it hasn't missed a beat yet. Thanks for all the suggestions and opinions to.my question. I hope someone else can find this thread and solve an issue for themselves because this was a very irritating issue! See you guys around!
