Try the horn when the bike is running. I had a 2002 FLHTCUI that had a horn that was very low when the bike wasn't running, but start the bike and the horn worked fine. I never really tried to find out why. As long as it passed the annual motor vehicle inspection that was good enough for me.

What gauge would you use for the part that is missing on that white wire that goes from the kill switch to the coil ?
I was planning to put 16g. Will it be enough or shall I go for 14g ?
A trail for my thoughts :
Regarding the U=R*I law, If the coil is a 3ohm resistance and as the tension is around 12, the Intensity crossing those wire should be approx. 4A ? Meaning a 16g should be more than enough for this purpose ?
Am I wrong ?
