Buttonless security system battery removal

How do I remove the battery without causing the buttonless security system to go off on a 2009 FXCWC? I put the key in the ignition to the ACC position as some guide I found online said, but the alarm still went off.

Not 100% on a 2009, but on my 2011 you have to pull the rear fender, or slide it out of the way at least. then disconnect the connector on the bottom right of the electrical caddy. Then disconnect the battery. All this has to be done while on the side stand, or it'll set the alarm off.

Fob within range - turn key to on position - disconnect negative battery terminal first then positive.
