I have a 08 XL1200C with V&H long shot slipons and SE/AC. I'm using a PV tuner with a canned map from Fuelmoto for my setup that I have AT'd the VE tables. I set the cells from 1000-3500 rpm and 30-40 kpa in the AFR table to 13.8 - 14.1. And from 50-70 kpa 14.6 (closed loop) with the closed bias tables set to 700 which is how I got the tune from FuelMoto. When I called FM and spoke with them I was told this adjust the AFR to 14.3. I ran my PV with the gauges set to engine temp, AFR, and RPMs. When I was running 14:1 the engine temp was 370-380 when it read 14.6 (closed mode) it went up to 390-400. I was told by FM the 700 setting in the closed bias table adjust the the AFR to approx 14.3. Now I know the reading on the gauge is only reading where the ECM is reading the AFR table not with the adjustment of the closed loop bias table. This tells me that all I have read is true that at 14:1 you run cooler. I want to run closed loop and take advantage of the O2 sensors because of the stoichiometric AFR of different gas (E5, E10) can be.
Now I found some AFR tables (posted below) and 700 aint nowhere near 14.3. I also read where exhaust temp will change the reading of the O2 sensors. So I am trying to figure out where to set my closed bias table to. I read 700-750 but no explanation why.
Anyone have any experience with this?
And if I set my tables to 14.1 and run open loop other than running richer with different gas like E10 what else to worry about.
