Ignition/Tuner/ECM/Fuel InjectionNeed advice on ignition issues? Questions about a tuner? Have questions about a EFI calibration or Fuel Injection? Tips on Engine Diagnostics, how to get codes, and what they mean. Find your answers here.
I recently installed the SE heads and and am trying to flash the ECM. I own the scanalyzer plus the EFI BREAK-out box. However, the ECM is not responding to the scanalyzer. The scanalyzer is powering up though. Ive also tried the diagnostic cartridge as well....no response. Anyone here familiar with the old EFI style Harley use to use and if someone had a similar issue.
I am suspecting a grounding issue somewhere. Any help would be thankful.
Yes - you need the adapter harness HD-45208 for communicating. Only other hope is full battery (keep bike on tender while attempting to talk) and/or just keep trying. Here is pic of one of mine.

The scanalyzer has always worked in the past. I even tried it on another bike and it worked. I believe something has changed on my bike in the wiring harness.
Never seen or knew of that adapter cable....what does it connect to?
I believe they are obsolete. They were through SPX Kent-Moore to HD dealers. You could try that - I doubt you'll be able to obtain one. Like I said, have bike on tender or charger when trying to talk. If nothing else works, PM me - I would be willing to sell my extra cable.
