Ignition/Tuner/ECM/Fuel InjectionNeed advice on ignition issues? Questions about a tuner? Have questions about a EFI calibration or Fuel Injection? Tips on Engine Diagnostics, how to get codes, and what they mean. Find your answers here.
I have the black street tuner box, i know that the changes that can be made or pretty small but it does make changes and if a guy is going to use a canned map may as well get all you can out of the bloody thing. So my questions is this. Every time i go to the auto tune it asks me to load a base map first, in this case stage 2 with torque cams. It seems to do this every time though, does that mean every time you are wiping out the previous learned tune or tuned version and starting again? How can you tune on top of the tune you are working on? thanks for your help.
After you, have chosen a calibration to start with that cal must be installed into the ECM using the RECORD DATA tab.
Once you have done the SmartTune process you install the completed calibration using the PROGRAM tab.
So to recap:
1) Choose and install a calibration set to record data.
2) Ride the bike in all T/P and rpms possible using recording techniques (ie: using brakes and tall gears) to get to all desired cells for at least 5 eat and seconds each.
3) Process the gathered/recorded data per the instructions.
4) Repeat 1-3 until changes are minimal.
5) Ride and enjoy!
