Electrical Help
I'm posting this up looking for some ideas on a problem that showed up while out riding last night. I have an '06 Dyna Street Bob with around 3000 miles. While out riding last night I noticed that the headlight would dim and then return to normal brightness. At first I figured it was just a loose connection somewhere, so I cut my ride short and started home. During my ride home this "dimming" of the headlight got progressively worse, and started to affect the running light feature of the front turn signals. At one point, I realized that I had no lights on the front of the bike for about 10 seconds, and then everything came back on. I promptly found a well lit parking lot, pulled over, and called a buddy to pick me up. I got a ride home, hitched the trailer on to my truck, and drove back out to retrieve my bike.
So here is where I need some help. Based on the dimming of the lights, I'd assume it's either a battery or alternator problem. However, the bike seemed fine except for the lights, and if it had been a daylight ride I never would have noticed the issue. When I returned to pick up the bike, the alarm disabled properly and the bike fired right up.
Recently I had an issue with a Kuryakyn Panacea LED Taillight and the Panacea wiring harness. Both of these were replaced, as were the load equalizers. The front LED turnsignals and the rear Panacea LED turnsignals were unaffected by this earlier problem, and were not replaced.
At this point my work schedule won't allow me to get the bike into a shop until Tuesday. I was hoping some of the guru's on this site might be able to suggest some troubleshooting ideas.
