Default Dyno Tuner ?

Talking about an '02 FXSTI , SE intake , V&H Straight Shots with Quiet Baffle , DK EB catch can
While doing new exhaust studs last year (I didn't wanna snap it off in the middle of the summer) they put the computer on it and informed me it had a stage one down load ,
This same dealer just gave me a quote for a Dyno Tune , one price with an after market tuner , one price with out , Price seams reasonable ,
Question is once they have MY bike are they gonna inform me , You need to buy our Tuner also?
Thanks in advance

Hard to say what the dealer will do. Depends on how they treat their customers. But if you go with them be sure to get the whole picture in advance. You will need a tuner of some kind, what price were they charging you and using which tuner?

Being a tech Neanderthal I asked that same dealer about tuners last summer , They said , Don't waist your money , That's when they put there computer on it and informed me it all ready had the stage one down load ,
My big winter spend was a baker od6 & some little changes , It's in now (in my living room) , The speed recall lead is short and I can only reach with my rite hand , Between that and the rear pipe (Straight Shots) I put on last spring being mostly blue (hot?} was my decision to have them put it on the dyno and do a real tune and recalibrate the speedo
What they are going to due , That's a new Question , We did discuses the speed recalibrate
I'll be calling and talking to the shop MGR this morning and depending on his response maybe a call to FuelMoto about a Power Vision ,
I like these guys and they've seamed straight up , but kinda irritated that I may be blind sided with another half grand expense
The price they looked me in the eye and quoted was $378 with an aftermarket tuner $278 with out and left it at that not a word about having to have a tuner of some sort ,

That's a good way to go. I was gonna suggest you do it yourself. If you run into problems you can go to FM for support.

Stage 1 for that year was nothing more than an RPM bump. If you're interested I have an ECM with a mated race tuner for your year bike. PM me if interested. BUT - if you're happy with it, and have no problems, do you really want to mess with it?
