Default SE Tuner Question

Just traded a 2013 Fatboy Lo with a cam, exhaust, 30/70 gears, V&H BSS exhaust and an FP3. For that level upgrades the FP3 gave great service and the V&H Techs
responded well. Everything changed 3 weeks ago when I traded it for a 2019 Fatboy 114". It had 900 miles on it and had a Stage 1 upgrade with a SE intake, V&H Mini
Grenade Exhaust, and and a SE Smart Tuning Pro Auto Tuning Module. Love the bike but ran into three problems.
1. I don't know what the capabilities are of the Street tuner and the pro Auto Tuning Module.
2. They could not find the SE Street Tuner which I took for granted was needed to transfer info from the computer to the Bike even though it had the Pro Auto tuning module
with Wideband sensors.
3. The exhaust did not line up properly on top each other. Found out whoever had the Stage 1 done put the wrong Mini grenades on.
I bought it from Gator Harley and called them 2 days ago with the problems and questions. They e-mailed yesterday and said they would give me a credit towards the new
exhaust if I did not want the same kind. MY wife thought they were a little loud.. They also said they would call the previous owner and see if he had the pro Street Tuner and
if not ship me a new one.
Very good service which solved # 2 and 3.

This is where I need help. I have a 64mm TB and 5.5 injectors ordered. Leaning towards the S&S Superstreet 2-1 Race exhaust without the cats. I will be taking it to a shop
out of town and having the TB & Injectors along with a Woods 22X-E cam installed and dyno'd.
Since it will be tuned on a dyno will the SE Pro Street Tuner and the Smart Pro tuning Module be capable of recording and using that tune without making unwanted changes?
Or if I get a new Street tuner should I take it and the Pro Module (which does not marry to the ECM) and sell those two and buy a T-Max which I am familiar with. I don't want
to spend the money on the T-Max if what I have will do the job.

Could some of the SE gurus give me some experienced advice. Will the SE products serve my purpose or should I sell the SE before it gets married to the ECM?
Thanks for any and all help.

The SE Street Tuner is EPA compliant. That should answer your question. The only good SE tuner can no longer be bought since the EPA bitchslapped Harley with a $20 million fine for selling it back in 2015. That leaves aftermarket if you want a good tuner or the thundermax which is a replacement ECM not a tuner.

Yup SE tuners all EPA standards.... based on all you re doing I would suggest having shop doing dyno take all the SE tuner and module off. Depending on the shop they can either dyno and send tune directly to you ECM, or you can get a Power Vision. Some shops have ability to save the program to PV. I am assuming you are in a state that allows dyno. If not ... have the parts put on and get a hold of Fuel Moto. they will sell you PV with a tune for your additions. I did and love it. also they have life free tune upgrades. that way if yo add anything more down the road you let them know and they send you new tune for free. Great people to work with.

A tuner is needed to dyno tune. Can't send anything to the ECM without one.

The Street tuner will be out of it's element with the changes you want to do. You can still get the Pro Super Tuners from people who refurbish them, and they will work with your Auto Tune module. Or, you can remove the Auto Tune module and sell it and the Street Tuner (don't put it on the bike so that is doesn't get married to the ECM), and get a TTS or a Power Vision. I wouldn't get a T-Max as it uses older technology than the Delphi that your bike has now.

not by owner, no. Some shops have a large user license and "tuner" is on laptop. From there they flash ECM direct. You as bike owner never need one.

Guys,
Appreciate the advice. Everyone was saying what I thought the answer would be but wanted to hear it from ones that had been through it, Sorry for
the slow response.
i was at the hospital having shoulder surgery yesterday. MRI showed a muscle torn loose but when the Doctor got in there (Laparoscopic) there were three
muscles torn off and where I had the same surgery 4 years ago the surgeon had drilled holes and tied something. the thread he used has shredded and was hanging loose
so that had to be fixed.
Got there a 10:45 for a 12:45 surgery and did not get operated on till after 5 pm. Got o leave at 8:15. If something doesn't sound right it is the Percocet pills working.
I had to be put last in line because the lab did not get them my Covid-10 results until after 1pm so they had to move me in line.

Back to the original topic. I had been considering the Thundermax because of the tuner I was going to use.
Slingshot383, You say the T-Max is not up to date. Do they have any plans to upgrade soon.

I have no idea, they are a stand alone system, but it uses an older technology to accomplish the final result. I'm not saying they are a bad system, just that they use an older technology.
