Ignition/Tuner/ECM/Fuel InjectionNeed advice on ignition issues? Questions about a tuner? Have questions about a EFI calibration or Fuel Injection? Tips on Engine Diagnostics, how to get codes, and what they mean. Find your answers here.
I want to educate myself about the basics of EFI tuning. My goal is to be able to adjust base maps to compensate for the addition of new headpipes, slip ons, etc. Any thoughts or ideas about online resources that work will be greatly appreciated!
Without any real monitoring system (using 02s on bike or wide bands on dyno), adjustments are just a guess. Reading up will give you the theory, but not the ability to accurately make changes. I used to tell the guys in my dyno class that if they thought they were awesome tuners without a dyno, the dyno was going to show them how off they were - they all wound up agreeing.
Read as much as you can, but know that you will have to invest in a method to monitor and adjust.

You can download the PowerVision WinPV software and look at tunes without having the actual Tuner.
DynoJet also has several Documents for additional information.
I found the Harley Pro Street Tuner Computer based Training helpful when I started.
You can also download the HD Software and look at tunes. (and compare to the WinPV Software)
(You do not need the tuner, use all 1s for the VCI serial number to download the software)
The Software Help file has good information also.
