Before the minions chime in, I have spent a few days searching this forum and have not been able to find an answer.
Does the ECM (engine control module) reset itself to factory specs if the battery is disconnected for a period of time? This has been my experience with most of the newer cars and trucks I have owned; and I'm curious if the same is true with my '18 SG. The reason I ask is because my winter storage procedure is to remove the battery and store it in the basement for the winter. I do this since my storage garage is non-insulated and the temps can drop to the negatives during Jan. & Feb. here.
I don't need a lengthy explanation, a simple yes or no will do. Thanks in advance and be safe.
No, the ECM will not lose anything by being unplugged, except volatile memory stuff that gets relearned when powered up and possibly ridden for a few miles.
