Hey guys, I have an 07 road king classic with approximately 41k miles. I've been having an issue at idle, at first my bike was dieing at idle when she got warmed up and I came to a stop, this was after about a three hour ride, I went ahead and cleaned the throttle body and air intake. I'm no longer having this issue, but notice that when I am sitting still you can feel the bike idle up and down, she gets really low then comes back up in idle. Any suggestions are welcome, also noticed that as I was spraying my throttle body cleaner in my throttle body as the bike was running it tended to want to die, but came back I was not spraying all that much inside either.
You need to clean the IAC that is located in the throttle body. Cycle it a few times with the run switch so the step motor can move in and out, and you can spray the entire pindle.
When your spraying tb cleaner while the bike is idling , it doesn't take much to stall it out , just run the idle up to 1500 - 2000 rpm while spraying .
Agree with Nevil , clean your iac , not running , place a rag inside the tb and cycle the ignition and spray short bursts into the pintle .
Another suggestion here , get yourself a can of electrical contact cleaner and unhook the 2 connectors under the front of the frame , they are the crank sensor and regulator connection . Whenever an oil change is done , oil drips down and usually coats those connections , cleaning them would be beneficial , even if your not experiencing any issues . I remove the main fuse and do this at every oil change , along with checking my battery cable and neg points .
You can also pull the crank sensor and give it a cleaning , sometimes there can be a build up of oil on it , only takes a minute . Poor idle can also be the result of a faulty crank sensor and you may not even get an error code . Not saying to run out and buy one , just some extra maintenance .

Does your bike seem to run and pull OK and your middle to upper RPM range?
Thanks guys, I'll go ahead and clean everything up, hopefully that solves the issue and I don't have to put in a crank sensor.
If you have more issues come back to the forum. You may have an intake manifold leak. It could be a few different things but thats what it sounds like to me. My bike had that same situation, the motor was running hot, in other words lean because I had an intake leak but it ran OK otherwise, just bad at idle
