programming HD 32534-11 BLANK ECM
hopefully there's an HD Tech that can answer my question. I have a 2007 Street Glide with a bad ECM. original part number was superseded 3 times to a 32534-11 BLANK ECM. was unable to find a new original part number but was lucky enough to find the new number (National back order). I bring it to my local dealer and they cannot program it. they plug it into their ecm gadget and laptop and say no way it can be programmed. Now I'm no mechanic but if Harley is selling only a blank one, wouldn't the dealer have to hook into or call Harley to download a file of some sort. They wouldn't call Harley so i did. but regular folk can only get customer care. of cause they said the dealer would have to call them. Question is does Harley send a file to the dealer for each blank ecm?

Doesn't sound correct I upgraded to an alarm capable BCM dealer had no problem "marrying" the BCM to the bike. Dealer needs to be more specific why they can't do it and ask what's the difference between your BCM and a H-D alarm capable BCM.
